Utilising traction elevator technology, the Alimak marine elevator offers a smoother passenger experience whilst transporting payloads of up to 1600 kg. Available in two car sizes, the marine elevator boasts a range of modern safety features and meets the requirements of European regulations.
The Alimak ME marine elevator travels at speeds of up to 60 metres per minute whilst transporting freight loads of up to 1600 kg or 21 passengers to desired elevated points on marine vessels. Featuring a compact design footprint, the marine elevator takes up minimal space on marine vessels.
Designed to withstand the challenging conditions presented by the marine environment the Alimak marine elevator was designed to be durable. Saltwater, strong winds, humidity and the heave of the ocean were factored into the design of the marine elevator which features a reinforced carbon and stainless-steel build. The car can also be hot-dip galvanised to reduce the risk of corrosion in humid locations.
A range of up to date safety features are also present in the ME marine elevator. The design of the car and shaft facilitates a prompt escape with a roof hatch and escape ladder illuminated by LED roof lighting. The marine elevator is compliant with 2014/33/EU regulations, DNV Rules for lifts and EN81-20/50, ISO 8383 regulations and is available in an explosion proof elevator design where required.
Application engineering is available to design a marine elevator with the required functionality for any marine vessel for optimal efficiency. The number of landings and shaft can be adapted depending on requirements and space available with 3D modelling that allows for the easy integration of a marine elevator into the design of a ship.
